This notice explains what information Maths With Leon collects through the GCSE Gap Finder, why it is used and the choices available to you.

Who is responsible for the information?

Maths With Leon, operated by Leon Barkley, is responsible for the personal information collected through the Gap Finder. Contact hello@mathswithleon.co.uk with any privacy questions.

What we collect

• The parent or carer’s first name and email address.
• The pupil’s overall score, topic scores, colour-coded topic results and first revision priority.
• Whether the optional marketing box was selected.
• Counts of basic usage steps, such as starting, completing, unlocking and clicking a next step, with any source label on the link. These analytics events do not use a visitor ID.

The pupil’s individual answers are marked in their browser and sent to Google Workspace to produce the requested results email. The lead spreadsheet saves the score and topic summary, not each answer. Usage events do not contain answers, names or email addresses.

How and why we use it

• To display and email the requested Gap Finder result.
• To keep a record of the result and identify common areas where pupils need support.
• To see how far visitors progress through the Gap Finder, and to protect, maintain and improve it.
• To send GCSE maths tips, programme news or offers only when the separate marketing box has been selected.

We rely on legitimate interests to provide and improve the requested diagnostic service. We rely on consent for optional marketing, which can be withdrawn at any time.

Children and parent details

The Gap Finder is designed for Year 10 and Year 11 pupils. A parent or carer’s email address must be used to unlock and receive the detailed result unless the person completing it is aged 18 or over. The site is not intended for children under 13.

Where the information is stored

Result submissions and emails are handled using Google Workspace. The website is hosted using ChatGPT Sites from OpenAI. These providers may process information on our behalf to provide their services. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep diagnostic records only for as long as they are useful for providing the result, supporting enquiries and improving the service, and we review them regularly. Marketing contact details are kept until consent is withdrawn or they are no longer needed.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to provide, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw marketing consent. Email hello@mathswithleon.co.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Marketing emails

Receiving the requested result does not subscribe anyone to marketing. Marketing is sent only when the optional box is selected, and every marketing email will provide a way to unsubscribe.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the Gap Finder develops. The latest version and update date will always appear on this page.
